SOFT-2016-OCEM-GOLD-SPONSOR

The company will be a gold sponsor at the 29th Symposium on Fusion Technology, Sept. 5-9

OCEM Power Electronics’ fusion energy projects will be on display next week in Prague at the Symposium on Fusion Technology, or SOFT 2016, a leading conference bringing together hundreds of researchers and industry professionals developing fusion as a clean, abundant energy source.

OCEM is a gold sponsor of the event, which will be held starting Monday at the Prague Congress Centre. It will include five days of talks, meetings and exhibitions on the latest developments in running and planned fusion experiments.

Over the past few years the Italian company has undertaken major projects for the ITER and JT-60SA (Japan Torus 60 Super Advanced) experimental reactors.

For SOFT 2016 it has co-authored papers on the Ion Source and Extraction Power Supplies and the Residual Ion Dump Power Supplies (ISEPS and RIDPS, respectively) for the ITER neutral beam injectors, and the Switching Network Unit (SNU) for JT-60SA.

OCEM has been supplying power systems for fusion energy research since the 1970s and has published dozens of papers on related topics.

It often works closely with ITER, F4E (Fusion for Energy), ENEA (the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development), and the RFX consortium.
