Plasma Physics / Thermonuclear fusion

Thermonuclear Fusion is the process that powers stars: light nuclei (primarily isotopes of hydrogen – deuterium and tritium) are fused together at extreme temperatures (>100 million °C) in a fully ionized plasma state, releasing enormous amounts of energy with helium as the primary byproduct.

OCEM offers multiple solutions in power electronics and radiofrequency for Magnetic Confinement Nuclear Fusion systems, in the domain of plasma heating and current drive, like High Voltage Power Supplies, RF systems (solid state and tube based), supply systems for Ion Sources in Neutral Beam Injectors; and for the supply and management of magnets (both superconducting and warm) and in-vessel coils, like High Current Power Supplies, SNUs (Switching Network Units), FDUs (Fast Discharge Units).

The solutions can include local Energy Storage systems, to limit the power peaks to be managed directly from the supply network and to manage the energy recovered from the superconducting magnets.
